This is a Rare & Original 19th Century Etching Signed & Dated by Edmund Henry Garrett (1853-1929) who is a well Listed American Artist. This piece was Hand Signed & Dated Circa 1881.Its framed under glass and depicts a Figurative Illustration of a nice Beach Front Landscape & Seascape with Figurative Illustration and Sail Ships on the Horizon that was done in Meticulous Details from the Time Period. This piece is known as “Near Mattakeesett” which shows his detailed perspective, light, shade and other pictorial qualities from the Era. This is VERY RARE because it is Hand Signed & Dated in pencil and the lower right corner and is Signed & Dated in plate at the upper right hand corner. The majority of his etchings were not signed by hand making this more collectible and is shown in the photos. Garrett’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States & Europe and are held in Corporate & Private Collections and several Museums. The matting should be redone as its original with foxing, patina and wear from natural age. This came from a Private Collection which makes it very Rare Due to its Size, Age & Beauty. Please keep in mind this is All Original and may have some minor wear and imperfections consistent with its age. Overall its in Great Condition & All shown in the photos.
