Its Marked with Letter “L” & Dates Back to Circa 1879. The Watch Has a Beautifully Enameled Dial with Paint Decorated Roman Numerals & Arabic Numerals on the Outer Edges with a Second Hand Dial with Blue Steel Hands. It has a Beautiful Floral Décor Pattern Etched throughout the Piece as shown in the photos. The Pocketwatch has a Nicely Scripted Hallmark with Serial Number (5 at the Top) & No. 1042265 (19 at the Bottom & Marked Swiss. This Piece was Done in Great Meticulous Details & Made of the HIGHEST Quality & Craftsmanship. A Piece such as this is a Very Rare Find & Collectable. This is a Rare & Original Antique Sterling Silver Railroad Travel Clock 8 Day Swiss Pocket Watch with Original Hallmarks with the Clock Case Made By Gorham & Hallmarked Sterling A4358 Etched at the Bottom as Shown. Its Marked with Letter “L” & Dates Back to Circa 1879. The Watch Has a Beautifully Enameled Dial with Paint Decorated Roman Numerals & Arabic Numerals on the Outer Edges with a Second Hand Dial with Blue Steel Hands. It has a Beautiful Floral Décor Pattern Etched throughout the Piece as shown in the photos. The Pocket Watch has a Nicely Scripted Hallmark on the Back Plate with Number (5 at the Top) & A Serial No. 1042265 and Number (19 at the Bottom) and Marked “Swiss”. This Piece was Done in Great Meticulous Details & Made of the HIGHEST Quality & Craftsmanship. The Front has a Removable Glass Face that clips in or is only Set in place when the Pocketwatch is in the Case. The Bezel has Square Notch that matches to the Top of the Dial that sets it before you close the Clock Case. The Back Workings with All Its Gears is also Etched 8 Day and Swiss along with a Needle to control the Speed and has Beautiful Scroll Work as Well which is also referenced in the pictures. This Piece is all Original and has a Scratched Number 1-50 with Initials HW which is hard to see on the back plate but is there. The Watch is in Working Order but we always recommend to have it retuned and serviced as a Precaution and something you can hand down to generations to come. Its a Beautiful Timepiece that is Intricate in Design & becoming Highly Collectable & A Rare Find. Please keep in mind this is All Original and has some minor wear and imperfections consistent with its age. The Case was Beautifully Made with Decorated Sterling Silver as well as the Watch which has Natural Wear and Patina on the Sterling Silver all consistent with Age. The Back of the Case is Lined in a Leather with a Stilt similar to an Old Picture Frame and has Old Black Tape Around it and is Worn and Needs to be Conditioned at Discretion. Overall its in Great Condition and All shown in the photos.
Overall The Clock Case Measures Approx. 4 1/2 Inches High and approx. 4 inches Wide. The Pocketwatch Itself is Approx. 2 3/4 Inches in Diameter. This was BEAUTIFULLY MADE of the Highest Quality and Craftmanship and something that will continue to be handed down through Generations. This Piece makes for a Great Addition to Any Collection as well as a Unique One of A Kind Gift.
